Why Spay and Neuter?

Why Spay & Neuter?

Spay and neuter is the solution.

Have you ever stepped foot inside an animal shelter and looked at all the Dogs hoping they hold the golden ticket home? It’s absolutely heartbreaking. ( PS. if you are near Georgia Fulton County Animal Services is looking for foster homes. SO many adoptable pibbles in need! )

These efforts are critical to ending the abuse and suffering of so many unwanted dogs. There are simply not enough homes for the amount of dogs reproducing every year. By spaying and neutering we are reducing the amount of animals entering the shelter system that is already extremely overwhelmed. ( WE see and appreciate the heck out of all of you amazing rescue workers and volunteers!!! )

It is estimated that 2.1 million dogs are euthanized in shelters each year. This is estimated in shelters, not accounting for any stray dogs that never even get the chance to journey into the Good Life.

“Sterilizing a cat/dog reduces their urge to roam and decreases the risk of contracting diseases or getting hurt as they roam. Surveys indicate that as many as 85% of dogs hit by cars are unaltered”

The goal is to reduce the stress on rescues/shelters. Reduce the amount of unwanted animals being abused, neglected and entering the shelter system. We can’t rescue out of this animal overpopulation issue.Spay & Neuter is the solution. This is where we can make the biggest impact.
